Views from Across the Pond

Two pieces from the Guardian caught my eye recently. The special report, "Young, Muslim and British," affords a venue for two dozen young British muslims to reflect on their experiences, hopes, and fears about life in a multicultural Britain after 9/11. The other piece is a commentary by Timothy Garton Ash, who calls on Europeans to reconnect to (blue state) America and defenders of the Enlightenment, ending with these stirring words, "Hands need to be joined across the sea in an old cause: the defence of the Enlightenment. We are all blue Americans now."
